Enjoy a Virtual Tour of DMS.

Our driveway is easy to miss. The school building is set far back from the road among the trees.
Our large circular driveway makes for smooth drop off and pick up. During the school day elementary students use the circle as a running track. Last year some of our elementary students trained for and ran a 5k!

Our large front and side yards make a great alternative playground with plenty of room for ball games, snowman making, and much more.

Children feel comfortable in our home-like school.
Our library holds much of our school's diverse book collection as well as acting as our mulit-purpose room. Students enjoy their lunch here using real dishes and silverware. Before and after-school daycare are also in this room.
Our classrooms are bright and sunny with large windows. The natural wood floor is perfect for the sometimes messy work of learning to care for one's self and the physical environment.
The sensorial area is where children work on refining their senses using concrete materials. Cultural subjects include science, geography, history and art (not picutred).
The "red line" is where the class gathers for short full-group times at the beginning and the end of the long free work periods. The Montessori language curriculum uses hands on materials to gradually teach language skills.
Our Montessori math materials are very inviting. Children are always very excited to learn the next material!
The second floor houses our Elementary Programs.
The lower elementary curriculum continues using the concrete hands on materials in all subjects.
During full group meetings students work to create a community of respect for each other.
The Upper Elementary Class shares the Lower Elementary Classroom in addition to having their own Upper Elementary space.

Students get in touch with nature during recess in our natural playground.

Our students use our over six acres of wooded land as an outdoor classroom. They take nature hikes, conduct experiments, observe nature, garden and of course play!
